Density, Mass & Volume
Solve density, mass or volume with common laboratory units.
Toolρ
Density is mass divided by volume: ρ = m/V. Choose the quantity to calculate and enter the other two. The tool converts mass, volume and density units to a common SI basis before solving the relation.
A measured density depends on the material and often on temperature, pressure, composition or porosity. The calculation is exact for the numbers entered; the physical usefulness of the result depends on whether those values describe the same sample under the same conditions.
