Chemical Formula Analyzer
Break a chemical formula into its elements, atom counts and mass contributions.
ToolΣ
Use the analyzer when you want more than a total atom count. It expands parenthesized groups and hydrate notation, then shows how many atoms of each element occur in one formula unit. When standard atomic weights are available, it also calculates the molar mass and the mass contribution of each element.
For Al₂(SO₄)₃, the sulfate group occurs three times: the complete composition is Al₂S₃O₁₂. The same parser is used by the molar-mass and percent-composition tools, so a formula is interpreted consistently across the section.
