Two worked examples

Example 1

Displacing 1.0 L of fresh water gives a buoyant force of about 9.81 N.

Example 2

A 0.050 m³ submerged volume in seawater of density 1,025 kg/m³ gives about 503 N.

Good to knowUse the displaced fluid volume, which is not always the object’s full volume if it is only partly immersed.
