Two worked examples

Example 1

With k = 200 N/m and an extension of 10 cm, the spring stores 1 J.

Example 2

A spring storing 4 J at 20 cm has k = 200 N/m.

Good to knowThis expression applies to a spring that follows Hooke’s law.
