Two worked examples

Example 1

Heating 1 kg of water by 10 °C with c ≈ 4,180 J/(kg·K) requires about 41.8 kJ.

Example 2

For 0.5 kg of aluminium, c ≈ 900 J/(kg·K), and ΔT = 50 K, Q ≈ 22.5 kJ.
