Calendar age is calculated in whole calendar years, months and days. This is not a legal-age determination.
How calendar age is calculated
Calendar age is expressed in completed years, then months, then days. The calculation follows the calendar rather than dividing the total number of days by 365 or 365.25.
Worked example
From 15 January 2000 to 18 August 2026, the calendar age is 26 years, 7 months and 3 days.
Why “days ÷ 365” gives a different answer
Calendar months have different lengths and leap years add an extra day. A decimal age can be useful in some calculations, but it is not the same quantity as the everyday calendar statement “26 years, 7 months and 3 days”.

When a corresponding date does not exist in a non-leap year, age conventions can differ by context. The tool follows its implemented calendar arithmetic; for legal age or eligibility, use the official rule that applies in your jurisdiction.
